Seeds sold for planting & propagation purposes

Why now

You can’t buy it anymore. But you can grow it.

In late 2025, Food Standards Australia New Zealand rejected the application to permit moringa to be sold as a food in Australia — so moringa products are no longer sold as food here. The tree itself? Completely legal to grow at home. Plant your own and tend it in your backyard, your courtyard, or a pot on the balcony.

Our seeds are sold for planting and propagation purposes.

The plantation

Grown where the tropics do the work

Our plantation sits in Far North Queensland — wet-season rain, dry-season sun, and deep tropical warmth. It’s about as close to the native conditions of moringa and soursop as Australia gets, and the trees show it.

We grow to certified organic standards: no synthetic fertilisers, no chemical sprays. Pods are left to mature fully on the tree, then hand-harvested, hand-shelled and sorted seed by seed. Only plump, undamaged seed from this season’s harvest makes it into a pack.

Every order ships from the farm gate in Queensland — Australian-grown seed, never imported stock of unknown age.

Why these seeds

Seed worth planting

  • Certified organic

Grown without synthetic fertilisers or chemical sprays, to certified organic standards. What you plant is as clean as it gets.

  • Fresh harvest, high germination

This season's seed, germination-tested before packing. Fresh seed sprouts readily — old imported stock often doesn't.

  • Suited to Australian conditions

Parent trees selected over years for vigour in Australian soils and seasons — from the humid tropics to hot, dry inland summers.

  • Grown here, not imported

Raised, harvested and packed on our Queensland farm. No long sea freight, no fumigation, no mystery about how old the seed is.

Growing guide

From seed to tree in four steps

  1. 1.Soak

Soak seeds in room-temperature water for 24 hours to wake them up.

  2. 2.Sow

Plant 2 cm deep in free-draining mix. Keep warm and just-moist.

  3. 3.Sprout

Shoots appear in 1–6 weeks depending on variety. Give seedlings full sun.

  4. 4.Tree

Moringa races up in its first year; soursop takes its time and rewards patience.

Cooler climate? Moringa grows happily in a large pot in southern states — sunniest spot, sheltered from frost, under cover over winter. Soursop is a true tropical and wants a greenhouse or warm sunroom south of the border. Both are frost-tender while young.

Questions

Good to know

How long does shipping take?

Orders are dispatched from Far North Queensland within 1–2 business days. Australia Post Parcel Post typically takes 3–7 business days depending on where you are; Express Post is usually 1–3 business days. You'll see live quotes for both at checkout.

What germination rate can I expect?

Our current season's seed is germination-tested under warm conditions: moringa at 85%+, soursop at 70%+. Fresh seed is the key — viability drops with age, which is why we only sell the latest harvest. Soak seeds for 24 hours before sowing and keep the mix warm (ideally 25–35°C). Moringa typically sprouts in 1–2 weeks; soursop is slower at 2–6 weeks, so don't give up on it.

Will these trees grow where I live?

Moringa loves warmth and sun, so it powers along in QLD and northern NSW, and it's surprisingly adaptable further south — grow it in a large pot in your sunniest spot and shelter it from frost. Soursop is a true tropical: it thrives outdoors in coastal QLD and needs a greenhouse, sunroom or very protected warm microclimate in southern states. Both are frost-tender, so protect young plants over winter wherever you are.

Is moringa legal in Australia? What's the FSANZ situation?

Growing moringa at home is completely legal — it always has been. What changed: in November 2025, Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) rejected an application that would have permitted moringa to be sold as a food in Australia, so moringa products can no longer be sold as food here. That decision is about the sale of food products; it does not prohibit the plant itself. Our seeds are sold strictly for planting and propagation purposes.

Can I order moringa and soursop together?

Absolutely — add both to the same order. Everything ships together in one parcel with a single delivery charge, quoted live from Australia Post for the combined weight.

Do you ship internationally?

Not at this stage — shipping is Australia-only. Exporting seeds requires phytosanitary certification and import permits in the destination country, so international orders are on the roadmap but not available yet.

Can you send seeds to WA, Tasmania or the NT?

Not yet. Each of those states and territories has its own quarantine entry conditions for seeds, so we've held them out of our launch while we work through the requirements. The shipping calculator will let you know if your postcode is affected. Everywhere else in Australia — QLD, NSW, VIC, SA and the ACT — we ship to your door.
